ZeroZero go to ECTS 1998 and Kick Ass

Living it Up

ZeroZero team goes to the European Computer Trade Show
(September 1998)

This is a day we will remember. After finally finding Olympia in London, we met a German who told us for no reason whatsoever that "No-thing is free in life". How wrong could anybody ever be? (Who was this bizzare man?)

After arriving we soon discovered vast amounts of free Red Bull. Sorted we thought. Then we split up. One group found free beers and head and shoulder massages. The other group found a free champagne stand. By the time we met up again, we were rather tipsy. After a couple of hours of free champagne, (courtesy of some new computer TV channel,) we got told to go away by a now rather annoyed French lady.

In between these glasses of champagne, we managed to enter as many free competitions as possible. We all won loads of free CDs, most of them naff mind you. On the other hand, I met a recruitment agency who said "Oh Splendid…you're the editor of ZeroZero…splendid!". I then proceeded to fill in a form which was to win me twenty-five quids worth of OddBins drink vouchers later on in the week!

The rest of the team took more interest in the many models who were being rather cheeky. ZeroZero was getting it on with the ladies…After this, more free alcohol in the form of cocktails from Logitech. Chatting to the rather fit bird from Logitech allowed us to discovere that a huge 3000 people party was going to take place.

Of course, ZeroZero managed to get free tickets. Many professional magazines failed to get into this so this was a piece of good luck made possible only by the need to escape a groping gay bloke, and the ability to kiss the lady in control of the tickets…

The Sony-Playstation party sported around 50 playsations with new games, dogems (yes the fair-ground attraction), four free bars and a band called Pulp (I've never heard of them have you? J ).

Of course we all got completely mashed. We quickly broke into the VIP suit and drunk the free drink from the bar. By now it was time to 'skin up large' so we did this as well. We shared this with the hard working crew who cleaned glasses behind the VIP sections. Unfortunately, things went a bit wrong for me, and I ended up destroying tables in this VIP section by staggering around ceaselessly.

By the end, at three in the morning we were all completely out of it, and were forced to leave. This resulted in us all getting split up, careering around Chelsea looking for each other, and the elusive "Queens Drive" in which we had parked the car. Luckily, the trains were free on this day J so we got home for free. Sorted.

ZeroZero need to be invited to more events. If you want to do this contact us hehehe.
