If there's ever been a show that NEEDED a healthy dose of narcotic stimulation -- this is it! Absolutely devoid of any thought provoking or inventive sentiment. "Drugs didn't agree with me. Ergo, drugs are shit."
Well, thanks for your enlightening
angle on the debate, Mark. Now, get the fuck off my TV and leave the polemic
to somebody who knows. Come back when you, like myself, have glided through
nebulae on the back of Buddha, or exhaled rainbows from nose and mouth after
ingesting copious amounts of hallucinogens. Until then, spare us your shallow,
superficial assessment of drugs and their effects. One more thing: Your delivery
SUCKS! Overly rehearsed lines -- to the point where it seems you've memorised
every comma, colon and false-stop in the entire script; what are you,
a stand-up or or a Shakespearian actor? And you're just not funny, sorry. Give
me a smacked-out, crack smoking Les Dennis over a straight Mark Lamarr any day
of the fucking week. Ironically, there is a panacea for your lack of creativity
and spontaneity: they're called DRUGS!
I was communing with three friends in my apartment at about 7:30 PM when two uniformed OPD police officers knocked on my door. After stepping outside to greet the officers, the officers requested entrance into my home. I asked to see their search warrant and they informed me that they did not have one and pushed me aside and entered my home. Sitting on my couch under a pillow was a small amount of holy herb that that the officers claimed was an offence under the Texas Drug Laws HSC #481.120 and placed me in handcuffs and charged me with a Class B misdemeanor. After sitting in cuffs for over an hour a plain cloths officer arrived, still no search warrant, and informed me if I did not allow the two uniformed officers to search my home that he would tear up my home when he did get a search warrant. After the officers finished their search and found no more contraband, they proceeded to take me to jail. Finally at nearly 3:00 AM my handcuffs were removed and I was booked into the jail. It took another two plus hours before I was released even though my bond was ready the minute they finally issues me a number. another day living under prohibition. the police use of warrantless searches are infringing on our 4th amendment rights and we need help to get the word out.
What criminal law did these two police
officers break by entering my home and conducting a search without a warrant
of any kind and without my permission. JUST SAY NO TO WARRANTLESS SEARCHES.
The issue over GM is really about
who gets to make the decisions. All this rehtoric over the moral obligations
to go forward with GM are utter bullshit. All this crap about feeding
the starving - if agribusiness was interested in feeding the starving, it would
do so already - we ALREADY produce a net global food surplus. The problem
that the starving have is poverty, not the lack of food production. Making GM
crops (especially the teminator variety, the extension of built-in obsolescence)
is of NO benefit to the poor at all. This entire argument is misdirection
- what GM crops REALLY offer is the ability to hold a patent on food, and hence
to blackmail, quite literally, the human species as a whole. The only
way forward is top place GMO's under public control, in common ownership, and
use the technology to meet needs, rather than profits.
It is a known fact that Americans
are the only people to have gone from barbarism to decadence without ever having
been civilised.
Heehee... that reminds me of a similar
high-level operation mounted by the plods a few weeks back. Anyone remember
the naturist protests in London? Apparently there were three or four crackpots
who decided to strip off in the middle of the street in protest for our 'right
to be naked'. Well, good luck to them. Not doing anyone any harm
- probably brought a bit of amusement to an otherwise dull day. But the
police response? Sent out seven (count 'em, seven) officers to stand around
asking them to put their clothes back on. For three hours, if memory serves;
after which the novelty apparently wore off and they arrested a couple of the
poor sods. Now forgive me for being cynical, but precisely why does one
need to speed 21 man-hours of police time to get a bunch of hippies to put their
clothes on (amounting to about 1000 pounds, at a rough guess). Plus another
umpteen thousand prosecuting them... for being naked! Silly drugs busts
are just one manifestation of the pointless existence which those in power seem
to lead.
Look, my reasons for not taking contraband
drugs have nothing to do with "health", will-power, sin, or the law. The
simple fact is that they do not make me feel better. In my judgement,
everyone who deliberately goes out of their way to smoke cannabis is doing it
to make themselves feel better, and that's good enough for me - it's why I take
aspirin, and it's sufficient reason to take any other drug, whether you have
arthritis, cancer, or a bad day at school.
The politics of war, reduced though it may be by the mind benumbed hoi polloi of the Centrist media, involves a great deal of sociology into its causes, secret purposes and the laws which may attempt to govern it. This is true whether we talk of Nuremberg, the Oliver Stone-like staging of the Mi Lai massacre, or the Farewell Address of Dwight David Eisenhower. Now here is a member of the RAF, a young soldier from a culture of the highest civilian principles and general diploma education, who, commendably brave and emotionally fortunate enough to make it into this distinguished and eternally recognized force for the protection of Britain is going to condone actively the idea that children the age of ten be recruited into the armed forces. The empty reasoning alone is disgusting. We have countless examples in history of villians attacking their own people in order to make those people hysterical and bitter. This was practiced as a rough method by the Germans and perfected as a fine art by the CIA. Are you afraid to admit it? Are you willing to admit that most ten years old recruited into the army are recruited by the same people who recruit 10 years olds into prostitution?
So you are from Amnesty Internation over on the left, and you are from the RAF over on the right: well I am a brain damaged deaf victim of military style experimentation that I endured as a child for which I have persecuted by Amnesty International fundraisers to whom I went for help, specifically Peter Gabriel. You want to see my colors and my badge because I still think that children should be given shelter rather than knives?
I don't know what kind of idiot would
condone child soldiers, but the existence of such a one in the RAF goes far
to proving the warp in conservative reasoning that has given America institutional
violence in our public schools.
When coffee first appeared in England
there was a lot of concern about it. The political conspirators of the time
had been wont to do their plotting in taverns and, as a rule, got plastered
and forgot their plans by the time morning arrived. In the coffee houses, however,
they could plot late into the night and remember all about it in the morning.
Coffee was considered a positive menace to the social order.
Every day, I see examples of people
whose minds have been utterly destroyed by the very concept of drugs. They're
called prohibitionists.
C/Os can do anything they want in
the USA just about. Opposite gender parade strip searching, visual vagina cavity,
you name it and it is OK. The UK and
Canada have similar staffing strategies. In the USA they have the proportions
*reversed* in a great many prisons. The federal system for example.
The USA sexually abuses and tortures more women and child detainees than any other country I know about. The UK is right at the bottom of the offending nations the USA if not at the very top it is not far behind.
The USA has female prisons that are as bad or worse than many if not most rogue nations. Few third world countries if any would allow the sort of mandatory sexualized acts that are let us remember *mandatory* in the USA.
From these sexualized acts of institutional depravity we get "hobby" sexual abuse added. At one extreme we see the full blown rape camps of the District of Columbia and Georgia and at the "good" end it is still shocking enough to keep the USA in the number one slot of offending nations.
The USA is as bad as it can get.
It can go no further really. The USA has taken depravity and sexualized barbarity
as far as it can go in peacetime.
"It is better to die on your feet
than to live on your knees." No one serious believes that N30 will result
in the instant collapse of capitalism. But "infiltrating" the system will never
work, it would take too long, the possible infilraters would be unsuitable for
the organisations they infilrate, it would not be possible to infiltrate many,
they would be expelled as soon as they tried anything etc etc. And the capitalists
will never be won over by any arguements, no matter how logical or undeniable,
because for them truth is not important. If dialectical materialism did not
threaten their interests it would be as universally scientifically accepted
as say for instance the composition of matter from atoms.
Like it or not violence gives a demo
international coverage which it would not get otherwise. Those who claim that
it detracts are plain wrong. I have been on loads of really big demos that have
just been completely ignored by the media. They don't think "Oh that was
peaceful lets really take an in depth look at the issues", they ignore them
completely. A major factor in the success of the anti-poll tax movement in the
UK in 1990 was the Trafalgar Square riot. Civil disobedience combined with the
ongoing threat of public disorder killed the poll tax. The WTO summit remains
a major news item precisely because of the disturbances. Besides the only way
pacifists can guarantee avoiding violence in these situations is by not being
there. Heavy handed policing does not differentiate between nice pacifists and
evil extremists. I have respect for pacifists (people with principles) but not
people who attack our movement whenever there is a clash with the police. The
outrage about violence from the politicians and the media is utter hypocrosy.
They are all in favour of violence when it comes to bombing the latest "evil"
nation. If we are discussing violence then perhaps the issue of war should be
the focus. If I have one criticism of the movement it is on the lack of comment
on this. War is a feature of capitalism which has been starkely demonstrated
recently by the bombings of Serbia and Iraq (and the rest!). War may not be
on the WTO agenda but it should be part of an anti-capitalist agenda. The New
World Order with the WTO and IMF has NATO as an integral and central part as
"world policeman".
How many drug busts have you heard
of that get a supplier that supplies 10% or more of the drugs or stops a shipment
that would have been 10% or more of the drugs entering this country? I hear
of it all the time and once you add it up you get about 600% of the drug supply
being stopped at the border or confiscated every year.
Mr Straw is not anti-English, simply terminally stupid.
Hague's fevered imagination must
be full of nightmare visions of cherubic small children happily skipping home
from school - only they have to run the gauntlet of numerous shambling, red-eyed
mari-juana fiends stumbling out of their dens of inequity, offering to sell
or give their lethal, addictive weed to the defenseless innocents.
Haven't seen the Budget details yet,
but I hope the Chancellor hasn't increased the tax on drugs.... oh that's right
- he can't !!
I believe that the good ole U S of
A, as a condition of aid to Bangladesh (Land of the Cannabis People) in the
early '70s, forced them to destroy their Hemp crops. Which resulted in much
of their useful land being washed away by flooding thus causing people who were
up shit creek to start with to become even more dependant on the west for aid.
Another excellent result for the WoD.
"Prohibition has diverted the energies of the
Salvation Army from the drunkard in the gutter to the boys and girls in their
teens," he said. "The work of the Army has completely changed in the past five
years... Prohibition has so materially affected society that we have girls in
our rescue homes who are 14 and 15 years old, while 10 years ago the youngest
was in the early twenties." Colonel William L. Barker, Northern Division,
Salvation Army, 9 February 1925, when asked by a Minnesota newspaper reporter
about the impact of Prohibition.
As religion loses credibility, there is the danger
that people look to the state as the basis of morality. This is the first
step on the road to fascism. We need a constitution that robustly protects
human rights as set out in the Universal Declaration. Unkown.
Have you heard the prohibitionist line "We don't want a third legal drug and if we'd known before how dangerous tobacco is then we would have already banned it"?
Well, today I was in the Science Museum Medical History
Section and found a copy of a paper from 1602, proclaiming: "Better
to be choked by English hemp than poisoned by Indian tobacco!"
"Current UK estimates of regular Cannabis users are confirming that around 10 million people are getting high at least every week-end. That's more than the churches can ever get in. Is'nt it about time users have a big say in how the country should be run, instead of old-hat Christian dominated thinking? Join together now and let's change things for the better!"
BSE, foot and mouth, Swine fever, Salmonella (in the 80's) have showed us the direction that globalisation is taking agribusiness. Unlike any other form of business the govt looks after the farmers when things go wrong. These people can't be trusted to do the job, the govt can't be trusted to make sure they do it properly. We don't need reclaim the streets at the moment. We need Recalim the Farmyards. Things will only get better when the masses take responisbility for production. Countryside Alliance, Fuck off. Why can't we get a pack of attack dogs and chase some foxhunters around. Vegetarians and Meat eaters alike, take on global agribusiness, grow your own.
I mean im quite new and young to the world of pot, but after hearing this i dont really want to smoke solids. For the past month i have been buying skunk anyway. Solids annoy me now. They all taste like mud and not like the quality stuff i got at first. I feel sorry for my friends who go to this crap dealer and buy dodgy solids. They dont know my dealer so they cant really buy from him. By the way we are all 14/15. So legalize now, before we get a lungfull of shit.
I do believe that where there is a choice only between cowardice and violence I would advise violence.
There is no such thing as 'the working class' singular. The alleged working class is no more one single class than is the alleged middle class. Both are huge complexes of variations of class, usually with little or nothing common. Consider the place of the artisans, who preceded industrial capitalism. They were all skilled operatives in three classes - apprentices, journeymen and master-craftsmen. Some of this tradition remains to the present day. All wanted eventually to be self-employed - thus 'capitalists' - but they are all "workers". Marx's shallow class theory could not cope with artisans as it could not with peasants - copyholders and yeomen. His theory led to the revolution's self- destruction. Nowhere in the world has it worked and the suffering in its name has been an unmitigated disaster. Can we now get ourselves some fresh air?
"I think I'm of course opposed to terror, any rational person is, but I think that if we are serious about the question of terror, if we are serious about the question of violence, we have to recognize that it is a tactical and hence a moral matter. Incidentally, tactical issues are basically moral issues, they have to do with human consequences and if we are interested in, let's say, diminishing the level of violence in the world, its at least arguable, and perhaps even sometimes true, that a terroristic act does diminish the amount of violence in the world. Hence a person who is opposed to violence will not be opposed to that terroristic act".
'Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY.'
