Deayton:  Don't you know Jack Straw, as well?

Clarissa:  Yeah, I was at Gray's Inn with him when I was a Law student. He's a poacher turned gamekeeper really.

Deayton:  In what way?

Clarissa:  Well you know I'm rather mystified by all these allegations about never having touched wacky baccy and things like that.  Obviously my memory has been damaged by all the alcohol I drank.

Merton:  Are you saying he was a member of the High Court?

Clarissa:  Eh?

Deayton:  How intriguing.

Hislop:  Did he inhale at all?

Clarissa:  What?  I told you my memory's been damaged by all the alcohol...

Hislop:  Because it sounded as though you were about to reveal that he used to be a bit of a dope smoker.   But I think it's probably just my hearing, is it?

Clarissa:  Almost undoubtedly your hearing, yes.

Hislop:  That would have been quite interesting.

Clarissa:  It would have been, wouldn't it, yes.

Deayton:  What a shame it's not true."
