"The political
situation in the country is making us predict that in August and September
there will be a high level of social confrontation, which happens to be
in the time of the S26 global day of action. With all the political and
social accumulation coming out of these days, the actions in Ecuador will
have political impacts before, during and after Prague. For obvious reasons
we cannot say what our strategy is, but stayed tuned ! "

Bristol
"In bristol we are hoping
that in the uk, for those not going to prague, we will be able to network
for similtaneous and similar actions, in diversity, throughout the week.
22nd Sept is European Car-Free (according to the EU), so maybe an early
morning critical mass that might suceed in closing down (by preventing
access etc) locally based TNC's. we also have aspirations of linking with
local communities and holding a carnival in celebration of our diversity
in oppression - the CODO Carnival, st. pauls we hope, and hulme?, and brixton?,
tottenham?, chapel town? etc.. this carnival co-inciding with prague 26.
maybe even a squat cafe through the week, daily themed once more. maybe
highlighting instances of corporate capitalisms abuses based on those themes.
human rights? animal/environmental rights? democratic rights day? etc.
in bristol we hope to link thrughout the south west, to see if we can bring
about similtaneous events/actions, that once in a while regionalise. ie.
critical masses in bristol, taunton, exeter, bath etc.. as well as linking
regionally with say London and the south east, east mids, west mids, north
west, south yorks, west yorks (a smile upon my face if huddersfield), north
east, scotland, wales etc. who knows... these are just the thoughts of
a few, lets talk..."

Finnish anarchist/autonomist
network and Friends of the Earth-Finland have decided to participate in
Prague anti-IMF/WB mobilisations around September 26th. It seems we will
organise common transport for all groups involved. Probably at least Left
Youth, Socialist League and KEPA (big NGO coalition working on Third World/development
issues) will also join mobilisation some way and we will try to further
broaden base of mobilisation. There will probably also be some kind of
media office to translate information about IMF/WB actions to Finnish and
feed it to media and internet. Possibly some kind of local actions/discussions
will also be organised around S26 in Finland, at least in Helsinki.

"Just shortly about Prague mobilisation from Finland:
We started a S26 Group in June to organise around Prague. We've had only meeting, it's been mostly working through internet, but it seems that at least Foe, anarchist/autonomist groups, Socialist League (local ISO ), Left Youth and some Green youth are involved plus lots of new activists. Contact address for S26 group is s26@kulma.net and web pages (in Finnish) can be found at www.dlc.fi/~ravelre/s26
There will be at least 2 buses from Finland to Prague. One will arrive to Prague around 22.9. and second 25.9. This means that we will need some kind of accomodation for these people (about 50) until 29.9. Possibly there will be also third bus from Southern Finland and maybe even one from Lappland (Northern Finland, around Polar Circle...). So 100-200 people coming from Finland altogether, there has been quite a lot of enthusiasm for this.
Some people from Finland are also preparing media side. There will be media office in Finland around 23.-30.9 to translate reports and press releases and to feed them to Finnish media. Also some people coming to Prague will make stories and reports for Finnish media (alternative and mainstream). There has already been some media attention in Finnish media about Prague (for example articles in biggest left daily and in biggest swedish language daily) and we will try to make it more.
Local actions in Finland around 26.9 haven't been our priority, but possibly there will be also some small ones, at least in Helsinki.
